Clark Tracey’s Stan Tracey Legacy Big Band


Pianist Stan Tracey who died in 2013 was an outstanding figure in the Jazz world and was known as the ‘Grandfather of British Jazz’. His music continues to live and develop thanks to the continued enthusiasm and dedication of his son, leading UK drummer and bandleader Clark Tracey and his Stan Tracey Legacy Big Band. The Stan Tracey Legacy Band is crammed with British talent and when it performed at Fleet Jazz Club on 17th July 2018 its line-up was:

Trumpets: Nathan Bray, Mark Armstrong, Martin ShawAlex Ridout
Trombones: Mark Nightingale, Martin Gladdish, Pete North
Saxes: Dave O’Higgins (Tnr), Art Themen (Tnr/sop), Simon Allen (Alt), Sam Mayne – (Alt), Jay Craig (Bari)
Rhythm: Mark Edwards (Piano), Andrew Cleyndert (Bass), Clark Tracey (Drums)

The band played Stan’s compositions and arrangements dating back to 1966 and up to his final masterpiece, Genesis.
