Originally from Manchester, Matt Fishwick studied at the Royal Academy of Music where he met tenor saxophonist Osian Roberts with whom he and his brother Steve subsequently worked closely, recording on Osian’s record label ‘Hard Bop Records’. He has also worked with musicians on the UK scene such as Mike Carr, Dave Cliff, Jim Mullen etc. as well as visiting Americans Scott Hamilton, John Bunch, Kenny Davern, Howard Alden, Harry Allen, John Goldsby, Michael Moore, Randy Sandke, Warren Vache, Allan Vache, Phil Flanagan, John Colianni, and Ken Peplowski. From 2004 to 2009 Matt lived and worked in New York, performing at The Iridium, Smalls, Fat Cat, The Rainbow Room etc. In 2009 Matt returned to London where he now leads his own quartet and co-leads a band with Steve Fishwick.
