Mike Lovatt

Mike Lovatt on lead trumpet studied at Trinity College before going on to be featured soloist of the Glenn Miller Orchestra UK. Since then he has performed and recorded a wide range of musical styles including Robbie Williams, Eric Clapton, The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Quincy Jones, The Spice Girls, Oasis, The BBC Concert Orchestra, Michel Le Grand, Tony Bennett,The City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, Welsh National Opera Orchestra, Toots Thielmans, Marty Paich, Johnny Mathis, The Michael Nyman Band, Michael Ball, Shirley Bassey, The Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, Michael Crawford, The Scottish National Orchestra, Lionel Richie, Belle and Sebastian, The London Philharmonic Orchestra, Danny Elfman, The Syd Lawrence Orchestra, Michael Buble, Rufus Wainwright, The Royal Ballet Sinfonia, the London Sinfonietta, The Halle Orchestra, The BBC Symphony Orchestra, London Brass, Hans Zimmer, Joby Talbot,The Philharmonia Orchestra, The Northern Sinfonia, The Orchestra of the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, and the BBC Big Band. As well as playing on many major film soundtracks, he has been a principal trumpet player in many West End productions and plays lead trumpet in the Grammy nominated John Wilson Orchestra, Back to Basie Big Band, The Jay Craig Orchestra, and is professor of trumpet at the Royal College of Music London.
